Frequently Asked Questions

+ What is AIKA?

AIKA is a sanctuary in the forest to escape, slow down, and find your balance.

Our goal is to help inspire you in your personal health and wellness journey by providing an opportunity to connect with self, with others, and with nature in a pristine wilderness environment.

AIKA is a Finnish word that means ‘spending time’. We chose to name our brand AIKA to honour the deep roots of traditional Nordic sauna culture and represent our core values of Time, Quality, and Well-Being.

Time is our most valuable resource. The time is now to put our well-being at the forefront.

+ What is the AIKA Cycle?

The AIKA Cycle is a wellness ritual based on the ancient practice of hot & cold therapy.

There are four components of The AIKA Cycle:

Hot. Cold. Rest. Repeat.

Throughout the AIKA Cycle, we focus on breathe, mindfulness, hydration, great food, tea, and meaningful conversation, resulting in an experience that reinvigorates our mind and body leaving us happier, stronger, and healthier.

Each repetition is approximately 45 minutes in length depending on individual preference and experience with hot & cold therapy.

Guests experience 3 repetitions of the AIKA Cycle during a 90 minute private bookings, 4-5 repetitions during a 3 hour private booking, and 6 repetitions during a 6 hour private booking

Scientific research suggests that maximum health benefits are derived from 4-6 repetitions for most people.
